What I offer

The first step is for us to talk

You can tell me your story and talk about what help you want. I’d like to know what’s going on for you.

Silences, stutters, blanking, pauses are to be expected, you will be talking to someone who has experienced all of those things.

I will then add my thoughts on what I think will support you, and can share approaches you might not have thought of.

Some reasons clients have come to me

‘I want to talk to someone who knows exactly what it’s like to be me’

‘I don’t know what the future holds and I want to feel some sense of control’

‘My friends and family mean well but I still feel intensely alone’

‘My speech is all over the place, even with therapy, and I’m wondering if there’s more I can do to accelerate my recovery’

‘Life has changed, and I want to work out what’s next’

If you have had a stroke and have Aphasia get in touch and we can explore what we can do together for your recovery.

What I offer you as a coach

Depending on your needs and wants we’re likely to cover the following areas:

  • What would represent success for you in your recovery
  • A roadmap for that success
  • Tools and approaches to build your speech ability and confidence
  • Your identity and sense of purpose
  • Impact of aphasia on your everyday
  • Practices that will build towards your goals
  • Sharing of experiences
  • Connection to appropriate groups and resources

Investment & clarity.

All sessions are on Zoom, WhatsApp or Microsoft Teams and are £45 for one hour. At the outset I recommend sessions are taken weekly and then we can review what you need going forward. Regular intervention is important for your progress. There is a minimum commitment of 6 sessions at a time. At the end of each set of sessions we will review your progress and decide on whats best for you – we can either stop or continue at that point.

This coaching service is in no way to replace or substitute speech therapy or any other medical or speech based intervention. I am a qualified coach, not a therapist or medical professional. I’m very happy to work with the recommendations of your speech therapist.
